Heat blanks Tornados

DALLAS - The Laredo Heat improved to a perfect 2-0 in the Premier Development League Friday night.
The Heat shutout the Dallas-Fort Worth Tornados 1-0 at Penningon Field.
Jesus "Chuy" Sanchez scored the game-winning goal in the 88th minute of play. Sanchez is the former TAMIU star from Monterrey.
Laredo's netminder was Ryan Shaughnessy.
Heat coach E.J. Jepsen said, "We had a lot of patience and discipline and it paid off in the end. That's what got it done."
Jepsen also lauded his entire defensive unit for their efforts in the shutout.
Laredo now has two shutouts to start the season.
The Heat is back in action Wednesday night, facing the 17 and under U.S.A. National Team at the Student Activity Complex at 8 p.m.
