Heat Unveil New Logo

The 2007 United Soccer Leagues (USL) Premier Development League (PDL) Champions, the Laredo Heat Soccer Club, unveiled their new logo this week.

The new logo is similar to the clubs original logo with the only changes being enclosing the logo within a shield and adding the established date for the team of 2004 and the placement of a star on the top portion of shield to showcase the 2007 USL PDL Championship.

The Laredo Heat defeated the Michigan Bucks on penalty kicks on Saturday, August 11th by a score of 4 -3 to win the USL PDL Championship in front of close to 7,000 fans.

“With winning the championship, I wanted change our logo a little bit as to not cause too much confusion to our brand in our market” said Heat owner Shashi Vaswani. Vaswani added, “I also wanted to make our logo look much sleeker and contain the top part of the flame plus give our logo a European look”. Vaswani concluded, “The logo was tested on our jerseys and it looks very nice and compact. I think our fans will like it, especially with the addition of the star”.

In other news, Heat Championship T-Shirts are now available and for sale at the Laredo Heat office or by visiting their website for information on how to get purchase. The T-Shirts feature the new team logo along championship verbiage in both the front and back.
