Heat blanks Lightning again to go 9-0

AUSTIN — The Heat took advantage of three quick goals, which they scored in the first twenty minutes and went on to defeat the Austin Lightning 4-1. The Heat had to play a man down from the 35th minute of the game, due to two yellow cards issued to Jacob Almack. The Heat resisted heavy pressure the rest of the way and were able to add to the three goal lead with a beautiful shot from 30 yards out by Juan de Dios Ibarra in the 84th minute, assisted by Hector Vallejo.
The Austin Lightning scored in the 93rd minute to erase what would’ve been the Heat’s second shutout in two nights. Honorable mention goes to Jake Downs, Carlos Ordaz, Ryan Harrison and Raul Quinones in their defensive effort in both weekend games. The goals were scored by Ernesto Contreras in the 3rd minute assisted by Steve Su.Juan de Dios in the 10th minute assisted by Chuy Sanchez.
Sanchez in the 18th minute assisted by Ernesto Contreras. The Heat edges closer to clinching a playoff spot as they improve their record to 9-0 in Premier Development League play.
