Coach Dana Taylor
Over the course of his coaching career Laredo Heat coach (23) of Taylor's players have moved on to play professionally. Danny Mwanga was the #1 MLS draft pick, Alan Gordon and Bryan Jordan won 3 MLS Cups with LA Galaxy and Robbie Findley won an MLS Cup with Real Salt Lake. Five of Taylor’s players have or are currently apart of various National Team programs.
Prior to his time at OSU, Taylor served as an assistant coach at Creighton for four seasons, helping the team to a 63-17-6 record. At Creighton, Taylor's primary responsibility was working with the goalkeepers. The Blue Jays had 0.87 goals-against average and 35 shutouts in 86 games with Taylor on the coaching staff. The team won three Missouri Valley Conference titles, appeared in four NCAA College Cups and a Final Four College Cup appearance in 1996.
As a youth coach, Taylor's squads have been exceptional. Taylor’s U-23 Team while as an assistant at Creighton University won the Region II Championship and finished second at the 1998 national finals. While at Stanislaus his U18 youth team won the U19 Northern California Championship in 2012. In 2014, Taylor’s U14 SJ Earthquake’s boy’s team became the #1 ranked team in the country (gotsoccer), State Cup Finals runner-up losing on golden goal, winner of 5 tournaments including the prestigious 2014 Surf Cup and 2014 Santa Clara Sporting Tournament.
In 2014 Taylor became the SJ Earthquakes U23 PDL Head Coach in their inaugural season in the USL. The quakes finished their season 7-4-3 for a third place finish in the Western Conference. Six players have moved on to professional careers.
