TAMPA, Fla. – Laredo Heat SC forward Daniel Johns has been named the PDL Player of the Week for the seventh week of the 2015 season after he scored four goals to lead Laredo to victory against Houston Dutch Lions FC Thursday night.

The Heat took a pair of victories against Houston in their weekend series to move to the top of the Mid South Division as the season reached the midway point. Johns scored twice in either half in the opening game of the series to give him five goals in five games this season.

PDL Team of the Week

GK – Austin Pack, Carolina Dynamo: Recorded 15 saves during two shutouts as the Dynamo defeated Southern West Virginia and West Virginia

D – Joey Calistri, Chicago Fire U-23: Earned a second consecutive berth as his two-goal game led the Fire past the Des Moines Menace

D – Jacob Bond, Kitsap Pumas: Helped the Pumas record back-to-back shutout wins, and provided the assist on the winning goal against Puget Sound

D – Devon Fisher, Portland Timbers U-23s: Marshalled Portland’s defense as both left back and center back in 2-0 win against Washington

M – Abel Perez, Seacoast United Phantoms: Had four goals in two games as the Phantoms took two wins to solidify their top spot in the Northeast Division

M – Sean Sepe, Michigan Bucks: Scored three goals in two games as the Bucks took victory against FC London and Derby City

M – Carlos Silva, Jersey Express: Had two goals, and added two assists, as the Express romped past Westchester

M – Kyle Smith, Cincinnati Dutch Lions FC: Scored three goals and added two assists as Cincinnati took a 6-1 win against SC United.

F – Matthew Vasquenza, Ocean City Nor’easters: Had a hat trick as the Nor’easters remained in playoff contention with victory against Westchester

F – Tom Barlow, Reading United AC: Scored a hat trick to lead United to a 5-2 victory against Baltimore

F – Daniel Johns, Laredo Heat SC: Had all four of his side’s goals as it took a 4-2 victory against Houston Dutch Lions FC
