Heat Under 16 Team Brings Home State Title

Under 14 Team Earns 2nd Place Finish

Laredo, TX (Monday, December 16, 2013): It was a successful out of town trip this weekend for both Laredo Heat Youth Soccer and Academy teams that headed to Houston to participate in the South Texas Youth Soccer Association (STYSA) Super II State Championship played at Bear Creek Soccer Park.

The Laredo Heat 98 Boys Red (Under 16) returned to the Gateway City with the STYSA Super II State Championship and the Laredo Heat 00 Boys Red (Under 14), even though they won all three games in Houston, placed second to Brownsville Real Madrid Boys 2000.

Game # 2 versus Chivas Houston 98B, 0 – 0 tie

“We are very proud of the way both teams played and how they represented themselves, their families, the club and the City of Laredo at this tournament”, said Heat Youth Head Coach Juan de Dios Ibarra.

“Even though our Under 14’s went undefeated at the state tournament, the last game versus Real Madrid from Brownsville at the District Tournament the week before in Brownsville, which we lost by a score of 1 – 0 was the difference in that group also being a state champion, these kids played well”.

Ibarra concluded, “Both groups should be proud of their accomplishments this past Fall season and now it’s time to finish school strong and enjoy their upcoming vacations as we’ll be back at it come Spring and I would also like to wish the Under 16’s all the best during their high school JV or Varsity high school seasons”.
