Busy Weekend for Heat Youth Teams - Monday, April 26, 2010

Monday, April 26, 2010 (Laredo, TX):

All three Heat Youth Teams got back to action this past weekend with games out of town and in Laredo. All South Texas Youth Soccer Association games were called off the weekend of April 17th and 18th due to saturated fields and continued rain.

The Heat ’92 Boys (Under 19/18 Division) hosted the San Antonio Bulls (Alamo Area Youth Soccer Association) at the Texas A&M International University Soccer Complex on Saturday, April 24th. The ’92 Boys blanked the visiting San Antonio team by a score of 4 – 0. Scoring for Heat were Jose Espinoza (Martin High School), Gabriel Muñiz (LBJ High School) and Angel Serna (United High School). Espinoza actually scored two goals in the game.

The Laredo Heat ’94 Boys team (Under 16 Division) actually had a very busy weekend. On Saturday they hosted Millennium 94 from Cedar Hills, Texas and on Sunday they travelled to Cedar Park, Texas outside of Austin to play Exodus Georgetown United from Georgetown, TX.

On Saturday, the Under 16 Boys easily handled the short roster team from Cedar Hills by winning 11 – 1. The scoring allowed several members of the team to be on the stat sheet. Scoring for the Heat ’94 were Leo Guerrero (United High School) with five goals, Oscar Perez (United High School) with two goals, Kevin Hernandez (Monterrey, NL), Alexia Herrera (United High School), Jorge Vasquez (United South High School) and Ali Velazco (Alexander High School).

On Sunday, the ’94 Boys team continued with their winning weekend when they handed Exodus Georgetown United 94 a 2 – 0 loss at the Williamson County Regional Park. Scoring for the ’94 team was Ricardo Mejia (Cigarroa High School) and Armando Pedrote (Martin High School).

The youngest member of the Heat Soccer Club and Academy, the Heat ’96 Boys (Under 14 Division) headed to Marble Falls, TX with only 10 players on Saturday and being short handed hurt the team as the Granite County Falcons beat the Heat ’96 3 – 0.
